Welcome to todays diary entry! As part of my return i have treated myself to a few new bits for my desk and you may be thinking if your working in a shop why do you really need a desk and 2 monitors but when you think that the split of our business from in store and online now is slowly making its way to 85/15 online to actual shop it almost needs to be treated a bit differently to a normal retail managers job, the likes you may expect at somewhere like Next or anywhere else. Also, a lot of the additional work i do is out of hours of the shop so i like ot make sure i have a proper set up. I also like having nice pens and a nice book to write in!

We don’t currently open on a Sunday but certainly come March onwards for the summer season we will looking to open on a Sunday and also look to have 1 late night a week as well. Our opening hours are 8am until 5pm in the week but for anyone that works full time trying to get to us instore is quite challenging so it is about trying to bring the shop into the modern times a little bit with that sort of stuff and trying to nudge the staff in the right direction. I have always tried to treat A and E like i would if it was mine and at times i forget that it isn’t mine ha and trying to instill that mindset into everyone is my downfall really because not everyone thinks like me and trying to make them think like me doesn’t work.

So today relatively early on i packed my bag and made my way to the shop and worked most of the day over there as i find i tend to get way more done when i am there on my own, its like in the week i quite like getting there for about 07:00 as that means i can get an hour head start before staff start turning up. Mum also says she gets a lot more done whilst im not around so actually i am doing her a favor!
Today was National Pizza Day so we thought we would get into the festive spirit and have pizza for tea. We always go to a local place that does pizzas and wing and little bits like that. We really enjoy the pizza there and this was the first time we have had one since we got back so it was a very nice little treat. I wonder if i ever told you about something the Beef did before we left last Autumn. We had had Pizza one night for tea and the pizza box was on the side. Rory had not long woke up and he was on our bed and i said to him “I Love you” and he had obviously seen the box on the side and replied “I love pizza”. Cute but also heart breaking in the same sense.
