Diary Entry – 08th May 2024

Welcome to todays diary entry! Final day of shop time before the big first show of the year over in Nottingham but my whole day was consumed by the stress of worrying about my motorhome as even bigger than the big show in Nottingham is the big radiator replacement in the motorhome and i was up at 5am, worrying that this is just going to be the very tip of a very very deep rabbit hole and we were going to be told about lots and lots of problems etc. A little bit like when people say they don’t go to the Drs because they don’t want to know if they are ill. This is my version of that.

This absolute classic!

We wanted to get it there early and as i started at 8am it was Mums job to take it to them so i was up sorting the van out ready for departure at about 07:30. Anything to do with my motorhome always makes me incredibly anxious and with this being the first time it has been in a garage made it even more stressful. Someone said what if they cannot fix it today? And i just laughed and walked off, that was something i had never thought about it like that so i didn’t have a plan B and for me that was scary. As every hour went by my anxiety grew and grew and grew and by the time it got to about 1pm there was still no sign so Lisa tried to ring them and there was no answer.

On her way around town she popped back in to see how they were getting on and they said the new radiator is in they just have to put it all back together again so that calmed my nerves a bit as to an extent no news is good news. There had been no word of any other issues so it was just a case of waiting for them to let us know when it was ready so we could pick her up and have her back in our possession. We have also booked a service and MOT for the beginning of June before we go away to Devon as the MOT is due in the middle of June so don’t want to worrying about that all my holiday.

We got her back by about 16:30 and i could breathe a big sigh of relief and i was glad to have it back. £390 lighter but no further complications and we were back on the road. MOT and Service is due on the 3rd June so that will be the next stressful time that i have waiting for that to come around but like i say i dont see any real problems. I only knew about the radiator because it was haemorrhaging coolant everywhere. The MOT is a worry for another day and for now i am going to have pizza for my tea and look forward to the first show of the year!
