Diary Entry – 08th July 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! Literally just like that Camperjam is just a distant memory and our focus now moves to Nottingham for the last of the 2 shows that we did for them this year. I did enjoy the May one but it was very very hot and i don’t think we are going to be faced with that problem again this time around as the weather isn’t looking too good. Well, it isn’t looking bad but it isn’t looking good. There is pretty much an almost constant chance of rain throughout the whole weekend.

When speaking with Benn yesterday i was hopefully going to get there for Wednesday night and then have a quite chilled day on the Thursday but that got black balled today and we are only allowed to arrive after school time on Thursday so that means being in the shop for the rest of the time and then heading up after work on Thursday. Well i either want to set off at 2pm on Thursday or after 5pm because i don’t want to be stuck in traffic in Stoke on the M6, or stuck in Stoke on the A500, or stuck in Stoke on the A50 or on the M1 Derby side.

The good things about these shows is that there is very very little stuff that we have to pack, on paper it is an Outdoor Revolution show that we help them set up on and sell on their behalf rather than an us show with some support from Outdoor Rev. They do do a lot of the leg work on this one. Which is a good thing because on the back of a Camper Jam sized show it would be extremely difficult to do something of that magnitude back to back. Fortunately Camper Jam was the filling of a Sandwich between Tribs and this upcoming Nottingham show.

I imagine this is a little bit like what a roadie feels like when he tours with a band but instead of the gigs and stuff we just move different awnings around the UK and sell them. I was going to start later this morning and just have an hour of sitting around but one of the younger lads in the shop who did the show with us wanted a later start so i sacrificed my early start so he could have one himself. You have to look after the young ones because they don’t quite understand hard work like us older ones do. So i finished at about 2pm and went to bed and had a sleep because i was absolutely dead on my feet. But it is too early for high 5s yet there is still 9 sleeps left until i get to finally have a proper proper day and have a lie in.
