Welcome to todays diary entry! Home sweet home!! And it was definitely nice to get back! But it wasn’t all plain sailing to be fair so let me start from the very beginning. We made it as far as Bicester last night and we woke up on a service station car park and it was noisy all night and it was absolutely bloody freezing. I was just so focused on getting to our final destination that despite going to bed at about midnight i ended up waking up about 07:30. We all ended up in our bed so i got up and put the diesel heater on as quickly as i could to try and take the chill out of the air.

The diesel heater had quickly gone from being useful for 5 minutes in Morocco to be being absolutely essential back in the UK. The weather was freezer and it was grey and damp and a bit misty. I think by the time i had boiled the kettle everyone was awake and i put his bed away flipped the seats around and we were embarking on the final 150 minutes worth of driving back. I must say, and i have said it before and i try not to mention it too much as to not jynx it but this motorhome has always been absolutely fantastic mechanically and was just chewing through the miles one at a time and i think we arrived at A and E Leisure around 11:00am and within about 5 minutes it was like we had never been away.

The most important task for today was to get the new boiler fitted and we opted to get a new combi boiler so we could have the water running off electric and gas rather than just gas like we had before so looking forward to getting that sorted. It just means when we are on electric we can use that or when we are off grid we can use the gas as normal. So hopefully should reduce our gas usage only for the gas hob for cooking Tagines now. We did think about getting a boiler that could do the heating on 230v but there wasn’t enough space in the wardrobe for how big they are. ALthough any boiler is better than none and i am looking forward to being able to shower in my motorhome again.
One of my besties, the customer service manager “Wee Joe” had been desperate for me to get back and we had planned months ago that once i was back we would go to our favourite pub round the corner on my return and tonight after months of waiting we finally managed to get out tonight. There was me, Joe, The Dodge and Gaz another one of the directors and we all went and just caught up as mates do. I was knackered though by 21:00 so in typical fashion, as i so often do, i did a back door boogie with my wife and we made our way back to the motorhome to get to sleep. I was absolutely shattered.
