Diary Entry – 06th September 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! The show officially opened at 12 noon today which was fortunate really because when packing for the show someone may have forgotten to pack the shelving for the shop items and we also tried to get some extra furniture delivered from Outdoor Revolution which we managed to do in the end but no chairs or anything like that we ended up getting 3 pallets of the furniture and stools delivered but i was most glad that we got the shelving that was a whoopsie on my behalf.

I remember seeing the poles for the shelving but assumed someone has packed the shelving away but to be fair it wasn’t made too much of a big deal about. Although it did put us massively behind. Last night we ventured into the town of Malvern to go and get some food and some beverages. One thing that never ceases to amaze me is the fact that these shows never have a bar open on a set up day. For example Dubbed out never does, Camperjam doesn’t i believe and here didn’t. I always think if you did a little party for the traders on set up day would always go down well. So instead of that we got a taxi into town and found a high class Wetherspoon’s and had a curry and some beers.

Think we were back for about 10 o’clock and straight to sleep, those 05:30 mornings and late nights are not a good combination. Shop wise it wasn’t too bad a start think we only sold 1 awning but the shop and bits did ok. We have been flirting with the idea of getting a big windbreak so we can cordon off a pitch when we get away and one of the ones we have been looking at was the Dometic Air break Pro 5 and we got one out and stood it up on its head and i couldn’t believe how big it was! It was absolutely huge and probably too big!

I am a nightmare for talking myself in and out of things over and over again, like the wind break thing. I keep thinking about a drive away awning and then think about spending time outside but then it is nice to have some extra space straight out of the motorhome for in the morning time or in the evening time and putting the heating on and just having extra space but i think we have decided on a drive away now. So in the mornings i can get up early and sit in the awning and not disturb people if i am on the laptop. The reason why that space is going to be even more important is for when we migrate him from his bed on the floor to a Cabbunk. I wouldn’t be able to sit at the table if he has a Cabbunk.
