Diary Entry – 06th November 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! Well today we decided to take on the final leg of the trip and make our way from Jerez to La Linea and then we could have a few days sitting outside Gibraltar taking in the final few days of being able to get beer from any at anytime and from anywhere. I love the park up over from Gibraltar but because of the convoy i didn’t want to be in our usual place which is facing the Marina. We decided in this occasion to be in the main carpark so we had space by the vans to be able to sit about and get to know everyone ready for the meet on Friday.

We have actually really enjoyed our stay in Jerez and although it is not a particularly nice looking park up it has been a welcome break to be able to get the Starlink out and to be able to get plugged in and recharge the batteries both literally and metaphorically. And because we had a few days of back to back driving and we had managed to cover off quite a bit of Spain we knew we were on the home straight now and we were in a position to start planning the final bits like getting ferry tickets and getting officially ready to go.

The only thing we are not particularly up to scratch with knowledge wise is stuff about dogs but we knew a little bit and with some of the tests you need to leave within a certain time frame so we have managed to get the ferry brought forward by a day and we are planning now on leaving Spain on Sunday which means one thing. One day closer to getting to Agadir. I still find it hard to believe that people are trusting enough in me to drive 2000 miles to meet us near Gibraltar so we can all drive into Morocco together.

The weather difference over such a short journey was wild when we left Jerez it was blue skies and really hot but by the time we had got to Gibraltar and with the wind being about 1 trillion MPH on the way there we got to Gib and it was very cloudy and very windy. I do appreciate that a lot of the time the weather there is windy but sometimes it would be wonderful if we could have a very hot day there and i suppose it is beginning of November as well. It was that cloudy that you couldn’t even see the top of the rock of Gibraltar.
