Welcome to todays diary entry! Woke feeling worse than i have been doing for the last few days but grateful that we had decided after getting in Merida yesterday that we could get another 3 hours driving under our belts and we are waking up this morning in a place called Jerez. This is now about 1 hours away from Carlos’s shop and and about 90 minutes from the park up in Gib so we are now literally a stones throw away from being where we need to be. In hindsight we have done the right thing chipping away at it for a couple of days.
This park up is basically a big car park but it gets outstanding reviews so i thought why not. It also advertises a bit of a mechanic and a massive accessory shop so i thought could always check on the door handle situation. When we arrived last night i had a look and it appears as though they have every single door handle imaginable. Apart from the one i wanted. But he said check again today which i did and it would take 2 weeks to get the one that i need. Never mind. We are parked up in a compound so i unlocked the door and we now had a ratchet strap from the inside now so when we are in the motorhome we can use the hab door. When we go out i still leave via the driver door.

It was really hot today so we stretched the legs on the air con and got some usage out of that which feels like the first time in absolutely ages that we have had it on. It doesant work via 12v so we have to be plugged. We also managed to get the Starlink out and on the roof and that is also a welcome relief as i have already used my 25gb worth of data that Vodafone supply me as a gesture of goodwill whilst we are in Europe. They don’t do any free for Morocco but as soon as we get into Tangier Med i will pick up a Maroc Telecom sim. We bumped into some more people that are on the convoy as well which was nice, Neil and Jackie they are called. SO far so good and everyone we have met have been lovely.
In the end we didn’t end up doing too much as i didn’t really feel up to it. I am just hoping i can clear in the next couple of days. I am seldom ill and i don’t like the thought of feeling like this for ages. Hopefully getting near the coast and getting some sea air in my lungs will do me the world of good. I am quite found of these chilling days doing nothing. This is all part of a holiday to me and being able to just chill out and doss around the motorhome has been really nice.
