Diary Entry – 05th August 2024

Welcome to todays diary entry! It is funny that peoples definition of a holiday is so very very different. I will use my Mum, me and my sister as an example. My Mum for example believes that holidays are absolutely for relaxing and not moving too far away from the resort and being by the pool most of the day, afternoon naps and things like that. With the occasional day out. Whereas my sister is the opposite, she wants to be out everyday doing something she will literally have a plan for everyday.

Or if there was nothing agreed the previous day she will either ring first thing in the morning and say “we are doing x, y and z today. We are setting off at this time, would you like to come?”. Which is brilliant and is great for the kids as they don’t get chance to get bored as they are always doing something. I think that being a teaching and only working term time helps as before she goes away she has almost had a couple of weeks off where as people who have time off in between work almost need a couple of days to unplug form the matrix.

I also, don’t have that kind of energy. I honestly don’t know how she does it. It is unbelievable. We, the OV3 are somewhere in the middle as i am quite happy staying around the Moho sometimes and just chilling whether that is with a book, my phone or my laptop. Lisa is the same she is quite content to have some days not doing anything. I think my sister and my nephews would get bored of that. I think i just prefer the more laid back approach. We do still do lots whilst we are away but intermingled with lazy days. I also prefer the lazy days if i am honest. Sometimes it is nice just to not do anything. When the Beef is the age that he is everything is an adventure anyway.

We always end up down there for the entertainment anyway so it is just a case of in the day. With awning sales as well you may never get a full day off because you may be helping someone with a query or talking to someone who needs an awning. I have definitely tried to slow it down this holiday but i am starting to have one eye on the next phase of the year which after holiday will be hard work for 2 or 3 months and then head south for our annual migration then i can take it easy for a couple of months.
