Diary Entry – 04th October 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! Happy Friday! Another day down. The thing that seems to be taking up most of our time now is just working out how we are planning on getting through Spain and whether we head straight down or whether we potter about a bit. One route i have looked at is 900 miles miles where as straight down is only 600 miles and i am just trying to work our whether i should plough through and get south as quickly as possible and have some time down there or to take it steady and potter. I suppose it depends on the weather as well.

No plan survives first contact with the enemy and we could make all sorts of plans but if the weather was to be horrendous and the weather in Malaga as an example the weather is brilliant then i would have no hesitation to make my way down there. I also love Gibraltar and having been land locked for such a long time over the summer i wouldn’t mind getting in the warm and getting near the sea and near the beach. But we will see how it goes.

The pub we sometimes go to just up from work has had a face lift so we thought tonight would be as good a time as any other to go and see it and have a pint or 2. The only thing is that because his sleeping routine has changed we don’t want to muck it up to much so this ended being the one time i literally had a couple of drinks and we were back for 19:30 so we could get him in bed and get him off to sleep so we could try and keep that routine. So the Friday night in the pub was one of the quieter ones we have ever had before.

Once again he was asleep for about 19:40 and then we just lay on the back bed and watched some TV. This has been so surreal for us to have this time in an evening and this must be what it is like to have a baby sitter. The great thing about this will be once we get set up and stationed properly on our pitch in Morocco we will be able to sit outside and enjoy sitting in the awning where as because we have started lowering the table so there is more flat space for him if he needs to get out of bed which he has managed to do now a couple of times. We got some cool Outdoor Revolution lights that are sound sensitive so when he stirs they come and he can see where he is going. And in fact he had his first night the other night where i was woken up by the sound of foot steps and him making his way over to the back bed to get in. So i am far more relaxed now about him being in his new bed.
