Welcome to todays diary entry! I set myself a goal – and I actually stuck to it. Today was the day I promised myself I’d be fully caught up on these diary entries. No more backlog. No more scribbled half-notes and audio memos I’d forgotten I even recorded. And guess what? I did it. I’m back up to date. Honestly, I’m weirdly proud of myself.
There’s just something so satisfying about hitting a target – even a quiet, self-imposed one like this. Doesn’t matter how small it might seem to someone else. The fact that I committed to it and followed through? That means something. Especially when life’s been so full-on lately. Sometimes these little wins carry more weight than we give them credit for.

So from now on, it’s back to the plan: diary entries daily – or at least every couple of days. I’m not letting them pile up like that again. Once it becomes a chore, the joy disappears, and if that happens, well… that’s probably when I’ll stop altogether. But right now? I still love doing them. Especially now that I’ve clawed my way out of the 30-day black hole and can actually reflect in real time again. It’s a breath of fresh air.
The rest of today? Blissfully uneventful.
I didn’t even make it out of my pyjamas until about 3pm. No shame whatsoever. I just leaned fully into the laziness – lounging, pottering, drinking tea, and trying not to check my phone to see what’s happening back at work. I might have hovered over the A&E group chat once or twice, but I didn’t cave. So far, I’ve managed to keep my nose out and let things run without me. I think that’s progress.

It was one of those quiet motorhome days – where nothing much happens, but you still feel like you’ve had a full day somehow. I got a couple of the essentials done: topped up the water, emptied the toilet, did a bit of washing… all the glamorous tasks that come with living in a tin box on wheels. But even those didn’t feel like a faff today. They were just part of the slow rhythm of the day.
Rory had one of his calmer days too – probably feeding off the general stillness around him. We all sort of mooched about like we’d entered our final form: holiday mode activated, fully horizontal.
We wrapped it all up with an early night. No telly, no fuss, just the kind of quiet end to a day that makes you realise how much good there is in just being still.
So, here I am – writing this with no backlog, no panic, no “catching up” guilt. Just me, a cup of tea, and the hum of the motorhome in the background. And that’s enough.
