Diary Entry – 04th December 2023

I have spent some time today looking at pieces of land for sale in Morocco as we got talking about Campsites earlier on today. That opened up a larger debate about whether we would look to buy land in Portugal or buy land in Morocco to build the park up/ campsites to rival the best. I think my gut feel would be to buy in Morocco, there are a few reasons for this. Firstly the weather, and depending on how far we came down into Morocco. I would like to be no further North than Essaouira so we can guarantee some of the weather.

Also, i like the thought of having a proper sense of community on it and having a bit of a focal point in the evenings so something like a bar or a place where people would congregate. That is one of the good things about La Relais is that around the pool in the night time there is the restaurant and a bar. That is certainly one thing that Camping Atlantica Parc is missing. If this place had this then is would absolutely be hands down the best campsite in Morocco.

I don’t think it would cost the earth to set up either. Well i assume it wouldn’t but once again i am quite light on the facts in that regard. I just think that something relatively small with space for 15 – 20 campers for maybe £15 a night with a pool and bar would do very well here. We would do everything we could to make it the best experience in Morocco. That is why location is important because it needs to be near the sea and near a town/ supermarket with good weather. I think that is what puts me off a bit with Portugal is that the weather would still be cold and especially at night time and i think you could have a better, closer knit community type feeling in Morocco.
