Diary Entry – 04th August 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! I love getting the big awning out when we are away somewhere for a little while it is just so nice to be able to have that extra bit of space and having a bit more space for the Beef to roam. It is different to when we are in Morocco because the weather is almost always better instead of it being like it has been this year. The key will be in Morocco for containment will be a big wind break. Something like a Dometic Air Break 5 which is about 12 meters long and a door as well. The sun canopy will be enough when we are there as long as it is strapped down well as the win on that campsite can be a nightmare.

I have been using an Outdoor Revolution Esprit 350M which is a big girl and is similar to the Dometic Club in shape and then with the drive away element. It is quite heavy and we have discussed taking it to Morocco but i already have an awning over there and if it is just to put chairs in id rather not have to drag a 40kg bag 2500 miles too another continent so we will use our one that is over there and pen him in with a wind break. Although i do very much like it.

We caught a park and ride bus into Newquay today to head to the beach. Its been a couple of years since i have been here but it is always nice to reminisce about the old days with my brother in law. We have had some very drunk times in Newquay over the years. If you ever meet me in person ask me to tell you about the time i swam with sharks in Newquay. I cannot go into too much detail but remind me to tell you about it. Everytime we come here we always go to the harbour where there is a row of street food outlets and a bar so we always like to go there. There is also a seal here as well when the tide is in but we didn’t see it today.

We spent ages on the beach and he just sat in the sea throwing wet sand about until every now and then a wave would knock him over so we would pick him up. We kept trying to drag him away but he loves it so much. So much so that when we did eventually take him away he was crying his little heart out. But he did look like he was starting to turn slightly purple in the cold water. Although i think if he was given the choice he would have stayed there against medical advice.
