It has been a challenging couple of days and some of the more trying that i think we have ever had with the Beef. Bless him, this is no exaggeration but he must have the best part of 34 teeth coming through at the same time and it is really bothering him. He is really struggling and that in turn is challenging for parents as well. The worst thing is that there isn’t anything you can do and you can see that he is trying to be brave and trying to get through it but there is no such luck.
You know when it is bad when it is occasionally stopping him from eating as boy can that lad put away some grub. He will be sitting and then all of sudden let of this cry and it does break your heart. The above picture was from last night and he just couldn’t settle so we gave him a bit of Calpon and some milk and he was really struggling he was probably over tired so Dad did what Dads do best which was scoop him up and try and gently rock them and within a few minutes he had settled and was in the land of nod.

It always reminds me of something my Nanna Claire used to do to use children called “Beezy bizy beezy bozey” and she would sit there on her arm chair. Whilst holding you she would rock backwards and forwards and side to side at the same time. Singing the words to the songs as she went. When you saw it as an adult you wondered how the hell it got you to sleep and didn’t make you motion sick but every single one of me, my siblings and cousins all fell asleep to it. My version is a lot more brain friendly and a lot softer. I take the pleasure in telling him that i used to do this to him when he was a baby and he wouldn’t settle and i used to walk him up and down the caravan. I also reminded him about the time in northern Spain when he cried pretty much all afternoon and i had to take him out in his baby carrier in the pitch black in the middle of a valley in the rain. S0 whether it was the gentle rocking or my story telling that put him to sleep i am not quite sure
