Welcome to todays diary entry! Like i thought, the Dodge didn’t fancy letting us going early and to be fair he is right really because the only time we could realistically go would be the 23rd but we are due to go on the 28th anyways so doesn’t really seem like much point in going any earlier than the 28th. This is just a funny time of year with the NEC and stuff like that so we have decided to stay until the original plan. Well, decided with some persuading from the Dodge. It is the right thing to do to be fair. Although it is very very cold and getting dark very early.
I think it is partly because of how cold it is and also just excited to get off it has been such a long long long summer and now with autumn being well and truly upon us the temptation is to just bolt and just ship (probably not the best analogy). Although i did say i would stay for October and i am going a week earlier than the end of October. With the importance of the NEC as well for business and helping with getting through winter being here where i can concentrate on keeping things ticking over here whilst he is down there.

There has been another couple of business’s which has fallen over the last couple of days as well so that always helps you to double down and refocus. It is always a shame to hear of places that are suffering or have suffered ultimately. Although we are all in competition with each other you never want to see the closure of another business. Especially in this industry where a lot of the time is is generational family business and maybe something that some great grandad started and been passed on and passed on again.
The most worrying thing is i am not convinced they will be the last to go this month let alone this year. I think caravan dealerships are certainly feeling it at the moment and from what i can gather at the moment there are 2 motorhomes being sold for every one caravan. I believe caravan sales are really really hard going at the moment. So i do honestly and genuinely hope that everyone sees themselves through this busy period. And if you don’t buy an awning from me please shop at an independant retailer. Shops like ours are not a Halfords, Go Outdoors or Millets we are little family run shops so please where you can buy from me. Or local.
In other news Stoke won 6-1! God knows where that came from.
