Welcome to todays diary entry! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! WELCOME TO 2025!!! I didn’t feel 100% this morning may or may not have been self inflicted but sometimes the outside and fresh sea air is the best thing for you. So i was up a little after 08:30 to go and fetch the bread. The fresh bread gets delivered there and it is getting increasingly snapped up faster and faster but they always put some under the desk for me so we don’t go without. That is one of the things i love about it here is the fact that they look after the the usual customers and there is definitely family discounts as we call it for the return visitors. Call it a Moroccan Club Card.

The guy who runs the shop always give us extra stuff and they never let Rory leave without a piece of fruit. The people on reception didn’t want a deposit from us to extend a visa. It is little things like that they do here that i really like. There isn’t really much of that in the UK. I always try and do bits extra for people that buy more than 1 awning off me or come back time and time again. The little walk did me good but i was really eager to get back out again and do some more walking about. So i rallied Mum and Beef up and we got the push chair out and started to do our usual 5k walk.

One of our New Years Resolutions is to definitely do more walking and do some exercise but with him being a bit older now his willingness to just sit in his push chair is relatively low but we now have a half way stop where there is a park so we have sort of an unwritten contract with him that is we will walk 2.5k in one direction and he then gets 15minutes at the park and then we can walk back and that seems to work for him. We do often try and walk a little bit further but he knows when the park is coming and he knows if you are trying to walk past it without letting him out. Probably too clever for his own good.
We tried a bit of a variation on our usual Tagine today to replicate something we had in Essaouira and it was ok but i think i preferred the original way. I must say as well both me and Mum are becoming very good tagine cooks and on our list of things to bring back is enough tagine spice to see us until we get back here in the motorhome end of October. The thing is, there is just no where else you can go which is a safe as Morocco and get the weather that you get here. It is simply too good. The thing is again he will be another year older so we will be able to explore more and take him to different places. Or at least the same places but he will be able to understand them. He will be 3 next time we breach these shores.
