Welcome to todays diary entry! Well, last night was a very very poor nights sleep, for some reason i just couldn’t settle not sure if it was because we were on Sainsburys carpet but when i woke about 06:00 we just packed everything back up and made our way straight to Cofton and i was outside reception for 06:35 sat with a cup of tea, i have had a bit of chequered history with this place but actually today was one of the best days that i have had here. My gripe has always been that they are inflexible and nothing ever works and i waste the first few hours of my holiday trying to get my electric to work and stuff.
I was waiting for reception to open at 08:45 and the lady opened the door and served me early, this was unheard for me so straight away i was taken back by this. I even said to the girl, listen, I’m here early i can wait 10 minutes if you want to get a cup of tea etc but she just said don’t worry about it come on in. I then explained that i was scheduled to arrive today but with the long drive am here early and i asked if her a couple of pitches were free and they moved my pitch over, which once again was done very efficiently. I had to pay a bit extra as it was a serviced pitch and it was closer to my family who were already here.

I explained that i already had an electric account and then they associated that straight to my pitch and by the time i had gotten to my pitch the electric was already set up and i just got there plugged in and away we go. Sounds like small things, sounds like basics but i have felt for a little while they were not getting done. In the past it would have been “we cant move your pitch” “we cannot get you in early” “the pitch wasn’t in your name so you need a new electric account” “cant do this, cant do that”. It, for a very very long time been a pleasurable experience.
This got us debating though whether it actually had been that good or whether the weather just changes your opinions on everything. My sister seemed to think that is was because of the weather but it was definitely more than that. And then, even better than that they had changed the way they do breakfast around so they now did a buffet breakfast and rather than having to put a sign up that says food wait 1 hour, you can get there, get sat down and get your breakfast in a matter of minutes. Certainly on the basis of how today has been Cofton, for me, felt like the good old days. Well done Cofton!
