Welcome to todays diary entry! Today marks a quiet but significant milestone—we’re now officially open seven days a week. It’s something we’ve spoken about, danced around, and half-committed to in the past, but now it’s real. A and E Leisure, 7 days a week. If I’m honest, it feels a little surreal.

When I look back just a few months, I honestly don’t know how we’ve done it. The scale of the transition we’ve undergone in such a short period is hard to put into words. We came back from Morocco, launched a whole new system (in the middle of Blakemere of all things), restocked the shop, picked up the pieces from the chaos of the show, rebuilt the displays—and now here we are, fully open, full capacity, and somehow still standing.

It’s been a whirlwind of change, and at times it felt like it was going to swallow us whole. But the truth is, we’ve weathered it. We didn’t just survive it—we adapted, and I’m incredibly proud of everyone involved. The staff have been unbelievable. They’ve shown patience, resilience, and an ability to embrace change even when the goalposts were constantly shifting. If I ever needed a reminder of what a team looks like, this has been it.

I think what stands out the most is how much we’ve achieved without really stopping to acknowledge it. When you’re in the trenches, head down, pushing through, it’s easy to forget just how far you’ve come. But today, walking through the shop—seeing new awnings up, customers walking in on a sunny Saturday, and staff confidently using a system that was alien to them just weeks ago—I felt a quiet sense of pride.

The shop is coming alive again. There’s a buzz. A freshness. We’ve got three full awnings out on display now—three! That might not sound like much to anyone else, but for us, it’s a first. It’s a statement that we’re not just open—we’re back. And better than we’ve ever been in some ways.

On the personal front, I’ve been running on fumes lately, but there’s light at the end of the tunnel. We’ve got Cofton now just 5 weeks away, and I am counting down the days. A whole week away in the motorhome, catching up with Mandy and Feegs, letting Rory run wild, maybe even switching off the laptop for a day or two. I’ve never looked forward to a break more.

Of course, May is shaping up to be an absolute monster—two shows back to back, a million moving parts, and very few breaks in between. But for now, just for today, I’m pausing to appreciate where we are. Because the dust is settling, the energy is returning, and I feel—finally—like we’re heading into a new season with momentum and belief.

Here’s to that.
