Welcome to todays diary entry! The big march north continued today and have dusted off a large portion of Spain since we left Gibraltar this morning. We were not out as sharp today as we were when we left Camping Atlantica the other day but we sill had a full tank of diesel in by 08:30 and it was another one of those drives where big sections of the trip were spent on one road. In total today the plan was to try and dust off 460 miles which would put us within 170 minutes of Santander and with that less than 400 miles of our final destination which is Northwich.

The main decision we will have to make is to whether we stay here until Wednesday morning and then head straight to the port via petrol station or do we have 1 night in Santander. We didn’t have our first stop until about 1pm and we called in Caceares and had a McDonalds for dinner and whilst we were there topped up with diesel again and i have been really chuffed with how the motorhome has driven and although i do worry about it. It has never ever given me any reason to not have full support in it. Once again today it just kept churning up the miles. You can guarantee now i have said that something will go wrong. Although i hope it doesnt obviously.

We got this campsite from P4N and we would never normally stop here last few times have drove on to Salamanca but actually it is really nice here and the people have been really friendly as well. I can normally tell within about 3 minutes whether i am going to enjoy somewhere and i got a really good feeling about this place. I asked the woman when we turned up at about 17:30 if the restaurant was still open and she looked surprised that i had asked the question.
She said “of course the restaurant is open, and of course the bar will be open until 11pm” although with how i was feeling there was no way that i was going to make it until 23:00. I think i had about 2 or 3 drinks and then i had a pizza and i could feel myself falling asleep. I must have been tired because i left half a pint which Mum would have mine swept no doubt. So i came back to the motorhome to make the Beefs bed and put the diesel heater on as it was cold. It is noticeably colder than we had experienced for a long time. It was also raining which was a pain in the neck but we even went to sleep with the diesel heater on low as it was that cold. It has been a real culture shock.
