Welcome to todays diary entry! Another day down without our pals and we are pretty much half way through we have been spammed by them in our Whatsapp group of pictures of either frost, fog, ice or rain and then when they go to the pub. I have been watching over there garden that they have started growing and we have committed ot trying to grow something in the back gardens for next year. Hopefully something that i like so i can enjoy it rather than being Tomatoes. But Kel has said that Tomatoes are one of the easiest things to grow. So we will see how it goes. I wouldn’t mind trying to grow some Chili peppers as well. Hot ones.

We have made so many plans for our return things like bringing a little brewery kit so we can try and brew some of our beer whilst we are out here as well. I have never ever brewed my own Beer but my Dad always used to brew it in his garage when i was younger. I still don’t feel 100% probably not even 80% if i think about. When i wake up in the morning i just about have the energy to get up and get to my desk and get to work. I have enjoyed having a few days off at the back of last week and had a bit of a blow out but that will probably the last time i will really be able to let my hair down until September/ October time i would have thought.

The summers in that shop are just so intense in the summer and balancing that and shows and staff holidays you do feel like you are literally trying to keep your head above water. Although as i have mentioned loads of times now that the ability to be able to come out here for the winter and enjoy this constant sunshine does make up for it and it is a pretty big carrot to dangle to get you through those long days. For example when at about 16:45 just before the shop closes and then the Dodge says have you got 10 minutes tonight to do some stuff in the warehouse, the worst thing is you know it is not going to be 10 minutes and you can wave goodbye to a couple of hours of your evening. It will be like that 6 days a week when we get back
But it is what it is and i love it and to be fair it never really feels like work (most of the time) but sometimes when you have worked 28 days straight you are sometimes just dying on your feet. I do need to break it up and we will this year have a week or so at Cofton i believe and then we always get away for Lisa’s birthday so not quite sure where that will be a little interim battery charge is always required.
