Welcome to todays diary entry! Mondays never really seem to carry the same dread here as they do back home and don’t get me wrong i don’t suffer much from the Sunday night fear. Actually i am not even working properly i guess so really there should be no dread what so ever. We have started paying chunks off our campsite fees today in prep for leaving early doors on the 31st January. I got a sneak peak at the price increases for next year as well whilst i was there. It works out at £0.48p a night so for the long timers who do the maximum stay to get the cheapest rate the amount works out out at an extra £43.20 over the 3 months so £14 a month. Not much at all.

But it still works out at less than £450 a month for 30 days which when you consider what that cost translates to back in the UK it is quite a good bit of value really. I mean obviously once you take into account your ferry to Spain which with the removal of the Club Voyage family and friends thing will put the cost up a bit. But lets say £650 for the ferry to Spain, £250 for the ferry from Carlos and probably £1000 for diesel on the premise that you don’t stop on any campsites down here and stay in Aires. To get here for 90 days including campsite you are looking at £2350. Then your £1000 in diesel and your £650 to get back to the UK from Santander you are probably talking about £4000 in total for 90 days in Mid/ south Morocco for 2 adults and 1 child. So in theory you are looking at £44 a day.

Then obviously if you stayed longer than the 90 days then the £44 a night would continue to fall so it is a really economical place to come if you are coming for a decent amount of time and it will only become more popular and it will only grow in stature as well. The change that we have seen from this year to early last year in terms of things like litter etc they are certainly making an effort. Since the Schengen coming to the Morocco is almost a necessity but even if not for the Schengen i wouldn’t spend winter in Spain/ Portugal again. It is still too cold and still gets dark way too early for my liking. There is just no place like it.
I think the people that come here would still do so as well given any future changes to the Schengen it think it would stop some people that have not been coming here. I am still and continue to be a huge advocate for Morocco. After all Beef has nearly spent of his life in Morocco now. I just don’t know how he would cope back in the UK for a whole winter, It will no doubt happen one day but i dread to think how he would get by. Although one thing i have learnt about him and children is that they are very versatile.
