Welcome to todays diary entry! Today we have made probably one of the toughest we have ever had to make to be honest. We have decided to end our trip early but a couple of months so we expect to be back in the UK by the beginning part of February instead of beginning part of April. There is no one specific reason as to why but instead several smaller reason which all added up mean that to cut it short is the right thing to do. Saying that if we return in the middle of February that will still be almost 4 months away and just under 90 days in Morocco so as far as trips go it has still be a decent enough bit of time away.

As i always have i will always take you through the reason with full openness and from the heart. I would be daft not have a want and a need to get back to see my Mum. We had to have a frank conversation before i left to acknowledge that that may have been the last time we got to see each other. Fortunately that is not the case and if i was due to get back beginning of April that would mean that i would get to have an extra 2 months that i wasn’t planning to have. I know every time you say goodbye to someone it could be the last but it was a very tough and difficult few days for me to have to potentially say goodbye. Secondly, at the shop we are going through a massive transition and we are moving to a brand new system and the beauty of that means that we have the ability to be able to reshape everything that the shop does with new process’s and almost like starting the shop from scratch and if i could be a part of that then i wanted ot make sure that i could be. I would always want to be able to get my 2 penneth worth.

The way in which our days have landed meant that we either had 2 choices with our visa, we could either extend which would have to be for 90 days but we would only need a week or go back to the UK a week early. The challenge with going back a week early was that we it isn’t or wouldn’t be just me and it is a lot to ask someone to accommodate us all for a whole week before we would be in a hotel for a week for the NEC in February as well. So we would need to pay for hotels and stuff and being in a Birmingham hotel for 2 weeks isn’t ideal. We would then have to fly back to Morocco for another 5 or 6 weeks and then be going back home anyway.
Money will also play a part as well which means that getting back in February i can be working in the shop much earlier which takes away any bit of extra strain from Lisa being made redundant. It has cost me a winter clothes budget from Shein and i must say that Mum has been so understanding and supportive of the decision we have had to make. I have not had a Feb in the UK since since 2021 so i hope it is warmer than i remember. The thing is Agadir will still be here next year and so will Morocco so a bit of short term pain for long term gain. Plus my motorhome needs a bloody good wash! So planning will now commence on ferries back and route and when we leave etc. The positive from all of this though is that we will have bonus days on our 6 month clock for the motorhome being in Morocco so in theory we could come back out in the end of September ’25 and stay until the end of March ’26
