Welcome to todays diary entry! My god! What a time to be alive! It appears as though Santa has brought a late gift to Tamraght! From the last match Stoke sacked there manager, brought in club legend as caretaker and then we don’t lose. Not only do we not lose we actually go and win. It was even nicer because as has happened to us so many times over the last few weeks we actually scored in the last few minutes or so. SO as you can imagine there was an absolute carnival atmosphere in the motorhome with a conga screams of Delilah. It is funny just how much football and positive and negative results can impact your mood.

We had an absolutely incredible tea tonight and probably one of my favorite meals we have cooked in all the time we have been in our motorhome. I have always wanted to try and cook some home made chicken burgers. I am an absolute sucker for a spicy chicken burger. Not perhaps the Nandos type ones but the greasy chicken places, there used to be a place (well, i think it is still there) called chunky chicken and that always did the most amazing spicy chicken burgers. I used to have them a couple of times a week back home. Honestly, they were incredible. So i had always wanted to make one so we arranged with next door to do a ‘Fake Away’. This was a term id not heard until recently but we were on Burger duty and some wedges and the Fegans were on wings and fries. We added some Chinese salt and pepper flavoring onto the wedges and they were something else. It was absolutely amazing and nice to have a bit crap UK food.

We have met some absolutely incredible people since we have been coming to Morocco and that is one of the absolute charms of it. Ever since we first started coming here i could list many many incredible people. I must say that right up there at the very top has been the Fegans. They are the kindest people you could ever imagine or want to meet whilst travelling in a motorhome. I always look back to when they got off the ferry at Santander and ended up coming to us at the Uni park up in Santander and they bought us a little hamper with loads of lovely little bits. Not many people did gestures like that from the convoy, not that was why we did it but the gesture from them was amazing! I am absolutely certain that we will be back here on these pitches again enjoying the African sunshine in the cold UK winter.
I think we have covered almost the full width of the campsite and each part of it has it benefits and down sides. Where we went first time was a great pitch and good size, close to the shower block as well. As daft as it sounds though probably a little bit too close to the sea, one thing you will never comprehend until you are here is just how loud the sea can be sometimes. The second time we were on the same row but a little bit further up, again another big pitch and closer to the shower block that has taps and not a press button. That was a great pitch but just a little bit cold as the sun is always behind you.
Then the pitch when we first got here was nice, shade behind us, an nice enclosed pitch because of the wall at the back but was in the shade a bit as well. The problem with that is sometimes they blast live music from the petrol station and it can be noisy. Then the pitch over the hotel side. This is a relatively large sized pitch but sometimes the noise from the hotel can be a pain in the neck but you have the sun on your all the time which is ok but we still get shade from the awning. I think on the balance of probability we will be back on these pitches again, the Fegan’s feel the same as well so that’s good enough for us.
