Welcome to todays diary entry! Happy boxing day everyone. Boxing day always makes me think of being younger and with my Mum and Dad being split one of the very few benefits was that it almost felt like having 2x Christmas’s as you would get picked and head to his for a few days and have the same stuff again and the same food etc. My Dad always tended to throw a party on boxing day so it was always nice to be able to be a part of that. I think we spent one Christmas day at my Dads as my Mum was working. I always think about how hard that must have been for my Mum. We always had incredible Christmas’s and some of my most favored moments were at Christmas. We never had a lot when i was very young with my Mum being mostly on her own raising 3 (troublesome) children and working every hour god sent to keep paying the mortgage. So she would work tirelessly to make sure Christmas day was always so special so for her to sacrifice that because she felt she needed to, for the house and for us 3 just goes to show really what an incredible and inspirational woman she truly is.

Today the 3 of us have mostly spent our time just sort of lounging around really and exactly the same as you would do if you were anywhere in the world in any house. There is always a sense of relief i suppose for the organisers of Christmas that it is done and it is over and then people can really start to relax. Almost a bit of an anti climax and the thought that it is now done for another 12 months. So early afternoon i was sitting there and feeling hungry so i sent Lisa next door with an empty bowl to see our Pals next door and to rustle up some Christmas day left overs as i was starving so after about 5 minutes she came back with a bowl full, which strangely was as nice as the day before.

The funniest thing about it was that they didn’t realise they had the left overs they thought we did so they had been picking at crisps and stuff like that but after they realised i looked outside and seen Kel piling up a piece of bread with everything he could find from the meal the day before. Kel hasn’t been feeling too well, not quite sure what it is but he is feeling under the weather. He has never really been 100% since he met him. I think it is partly being run down. SO we had a quiet day all round and my eyes are starting to think about looking at the scales and seeing what damage i have done to my waist line over the last few weeks.
Just to cap it off Stoke were playing tonight and anyone who likes football, one of the first fixtures you check is where you are playing at boxing and this is our first home game on boxing day since 2019. Hopefully it will be another 5 years before we do again because we were absolutely awful. Unfortunately as well i think it is now probably time for the manager to go. Something isn’t right and the atmosphere at the football club at the moment is pretty bad. So in typical Stoke fashion, kept me awake till 11pm and ruined my evening.
