Welcome to todays diary entry! We tried a bit of a tactic today that we have often talked about but never followed through on. Given its success so far i think this could definitely be something we start to do more often. It is with a bit of a heavy heart as well because doing what we have always done has meant that we have built a really strong relationship with one of the locals here. Historically once a week we have always got a taxi into Agadir to the supermarket and the Uni Prix but we had spoken in the past about hiring a car. One thing that had always put me off though is the gear stick being on my right hand side and non of the cars being automatic.

But Kelly had mentioned that he has driven that type of vehicle before but then that meant me being the passenger which is something that i have struggled with in the past and with my travel sickness. What spurred us on was a flyer that we had seen on the campsite about an excursion the campsite was running from here to Essaouira. WE have not been back there since the first time we came to Morocco and it is such a pretty place so with the Fegans not done much travelling then we thought we could kill 2 birds with one stone and hire the car for 2 days and go to do the final bit of Christmas shopping which we did today and then onto Essaouira tomorrow.

The trip was 400dhms per person and the car the car for 2 days was 700dhm so that across the us 2.5 and the Fegans 2 was great value. I think a lot of the time the travel sickness is down to shorter trips and the sense of the stopping and starting but with longer trips and also being able to see how long is left on a sat nav for some unknown reason but being able to count down and think right 15 minutes to go or 10 miles to go etc definitely helps me out no end and today i was pretty good.
We took the car initially to the Big Carrefour for a bit of a longer run out than the Marjane although i think in hindsight i probably prefer the Marjane than i do the Carrefour and although it is very similar i just prefer it. Its a bit like preferring a Tesco’s over an Asda but they pretty much sell the same stuff. There is still row upon row of cheese spread, still row upon row of tinned tuna. But we have no officially completed our Christmas shopping in preparation for the big day next Wednesday which was topped off with our final stop off at the Uni Prix ready for Dry January.
