Diary Entry – 02nd December 2024

Welcome to todays diary entry! Had such an incredibly amazing day out today and one of those days that sort of came from no where really. Having spoke to one of the ladies on the campsite a number of days she mentioned that they had been to Taghazout and that at night it was so stunning and there was a load of little street vendors for food and just how nice it was so i thought it may be nice to have a little wander across the front and then get a taxi back. As usual we floated the aidea to our pals both sides but the Brookes didn’t fancy it but the Fegan’s did.

The plan was that if we set off about 3pm and have a slow potter across the front then we should get to catch the sunset before we got to Taghazout. As so often tends to be the case we got kidnapped by the Hyatt Regency Hotel and nipped in for a quick bucket but we showed incredible discipline by only having the one bucket and after we had shared that between the 4 of us and then we upped sticks then made out way towards the town. Then all of a sudden something else caught our eye which was another little beach side restaurant bar.

We had only been in the hotel side and not in the beach side area but the costs were the same either side and i spent about 5 mnute trying to work out which was the best value for money as the Hyatt was 5 bottles of Casablanca (33cl) for 300dhm which is £24 quid or at the Radisson which was 300dhm for 6 Sam Miguels (25cl). In the end i think i worked out that the Hyatt Regency was the better value and to be honest probably the nicer venue as well. Although you were right on the beach at the Radisson. We watched the sun go down here then made our way the last couple of hundred metres in to town.

In search of somewhere where we could have a drink and some food then involved some treacherous walking across the sea front up and down some cliffs with the push chair and for people know what the front part of Taghazout is like it is rocky paths but lovely, not with a push chair and by the time we got tot he place we were headed both me and Kel were absolutely knackered and i think next time i would stick to the main road then drop down rather than drop down too early then navigate the cliff face of Kilamangiro.
