Welcome to todays diary entry! This was judgement day and to be fair i am glad we made a bit of a move last night to Merida although this morning looking around the campsite feels a little bit like the Hills have Eyes. When we got here last night it was black and there was minimal lights. I think we arrived about 7pm and there was no one in reception so once we were parked up i took the Beef on a mini walk to find someone to check in but despite getting there and ringing the bell no one was there so i though id walk down this morning. Still no one there but a sign saying reception opens at 6pm.
But we had a door handle to try and source first. So we sat there and did a quick check again to try and see if there was something that we may had missed. I have even reached out to the legends at A and E Leisure to try and see how quickly they could do it as my concern was that sometimes some nations in Europe dont have the same sort of attention to deadlines that we may have in the UK. Especially places like Spain, bless them, where its a bit “Maniana” and it is in the lap of the gods. Although we managed to order one from Holland but the most annoying thing is that if we would have ordered it yesterday, a Sunday, then it would be getting delivered on Thursday and it was only now that we realised it was to be delivered on Friday. Meet up day!

But we pulled the trigger as it had pretty much consumed our whole experience for the last few days. We just wanted it done. So there we go handle ordered but delivered on Friday now. Which is Convoy meet up day. I think though we may head to Algeciras on the Thursday night as there is a park up near to where Carlos stays so we could be outside for 9am in the morning parked up for it to be delivered, also in case it comes early on in the day. The thinking will have to start once it gets to 2 or 3 o’clock as to whether we leave and then head for Gib or leave it to the last minute and then risk being late for our own convoy meet up.
It has been playing on my mind a little bit and i have been struggling a bit last few days with the anxiety of it all. Anyone who has read any of these in past will no that i do suffer quite bad with anxiety especially when we are away and i think that is partly because we are driving further and further away from home so you become more and more dependent on your motorhome working and i had been getting better with trying to not worry about but this set back although it was a small piece of plastic has completely incapacitated my habitation door.
After we had sorted out the door handle i just tried to forget about it. So we got a taxi actually into Merida and went and look at some, as Amanda put it “Roman sh!t!” which made us all laugh when she said it. It was actually a really nice place Merida was, the Roman stuff was really cool. Not wildly push cahir friendly, but i don think they had push chairs in Roman times anyway.
