Welcome to todays diary entry! We had more people that arrive today!! Some people we have known for a while! We were joined by Cassie and Derren who are campsite wardens for the summer and then they emigrate for the winter. Last time was there first time and they, like ourselves, absolutely love Camping Atlantica Park and once again we have spent a vast majority of the summer talking about how much we are all looking forward to going back. I was trying to have a little sleep on the back bed to see if i could try and sleep off the little bit of fog i had in my mind from last night.
But just as i was starting to doze i heard “The Brookes are here” i call there motorhome HMS Brookes because it is a big one. It is absolutely stunning and is probably one of the nicest motorhomes i have been in. It is absolutely stunning both inside and out. So after i tried waking myself up a little bit i suggested having a welcome to Salamanca drink. This was quite early and by this point Kel and Manda had appeared and everyone thought that a drink would be a good idea and it has felt very much like a holiday these last few days which is normally bad because it means you are spending money. And when budgets are tight like ours is not great.

Then something very bad happened. I had to nip back to the Motorhome for something and i tried to unlock it, and it didn’t open, the first thing i did was sort of try and refocus my eyes. I thought to myself “i didn’t think id had that much to drink” but then i checked the keys again and i was definitely using the correct key to open it but it wasn’t working. The door latch had broken. The funniest thing about it is that with me being an extremely nervous driver when we are away that you always worry about the engine, the gas, or water pumps etc but one thing i didn’t think could completely disable being able ot use the motorhome normally was just a thin piece of plastic which moves the lock down or up.
That sort took the shine off what had been an absolutely brilliant day and most importantly everyone so far was getting on. Now we still don’t know 100% who is going to make it on the convoy but what i do know is that is supposed to start unofficially next Friday and i cannot use my bloody habitation door. With Halloween being a bit of a bank holiday as well pretty much no one is open until Monday so for it to break now at the very very start of the weekend is an absolute catastrophe.
