Diary Entry – 29th October 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! It appears as thought the little guy is coming down with something he has developed a little bit of a runny nose this morning. He to be fair has got progressively worse throughout the day and what was a minor sniffle yesterday by the end of the day was a full down cold. I will come onto that later. Lisa was working today so it was Daddy day care for the first few hours of the day and boy does an experience like this make you appreciate your wives a hell of a lot more. Apologies, lets be PC, wives, girlfriends etc.

I suppose it is not me but maybe millions of years of previous history of women being the best carers of children etc but wow how they do it i will never know. I did what i could but nothing makes you feel better than being looked after by your Mum. TO be honest i am the same now even at the age of 36 when your poorly you just need your Mum. I always remember back to a time when i really ill as a child i think i had glandular fever or something like that and i was that poorly my Dad came to visit me at home as i was of school.

I suppose your wondering why that is a relevant memory? Well, it was because it was so rare at that time for my Dad to come and see me. I think it was in the week and everything and i suppose what i mean is that i don’t remember a specific time of my Mum looking after me because she always did. That was always the norm, even when sometimes it may have been self inflicted you can always count on yoyr Mum making you some nice cheese on toast and just looking after you.

This afternoon we did a little stock up from a Lupa supermarket in the town. I don’t ever remember these being a thing in Spain so i am not sure whether they are new or whether i was just totally oblivious to them previously. There is something cool about shopping in foreign supermarkets and just seeing all the different stuff they have. We stocked up o some bits of meat and some nice Spanish beer. I was quite surprised that i thought it would be Estrella Galicia up here but it is all Mahou. I honestly thought that the Galicia would be the brew of choice. Don’t get me wrong they do sell it but it is Mahou on all the signs.
