Welcome to todays diary entry! There are few places that i have been too that are so unbelievably stunningly beautiful that you could just walk around up and down every street and just keep getting breathless over and over again it simply one of the nicest places i have ever been too. If it is not on your bucket list yet you need to go and get it and need to add this place. Honestly is is simply incredible. And for somewhere a couple of hours drive from Santander. It is funny because you can hardly see anything for the first couple of hours.
Then all of a sudden normally starting with the tip of the mountains and then over a 5 minute period they become unveiled like the removal of a magicians handkerchief. We were blessed with the weather today and i believe we are for the coming days so it is just a case of waiting for the sun to burn the cloud. Last night once it was dark i was literally just sitting there thinking about how excited i was for it to come light so i can see the mountains. There is just something quite special about being in the hills and mountains. Don’t get me wrong we love the coast but the hills are a totally different feel.

So as soon as the clouds were burnt away we grabbed 2 big bags of laundry to start the 2 or 3 minute walk into town. The town again is something absolutely spectacular. To be fair we didn’t get very far into it as by the time we had gotten to the town the Beef was asleep so I, as the doting father i am took him away for a bit so Mum could concentrate on working out how to work the laundry machines. I walked about 5 minutes down the road and found a lovely little bar by the side of the river in the sun.
It wasn’t long before Mum found me and we had a lovely 2 hours sitting in the sun just enjoying being away and allowing quiet time to just digest everything the summer. We had worked so hard and waiting do long to get away and this sort of felt like a bit of an epiphany really of acknowledgement that we had made it again. And we could start relaxing a bit and taking in the best of what Northern Spain has to offer. It was a lovely few hours which was abruptly brough to an end by Rory having one of his post sleep melt downs and for a little while the hills were alive with the sound of screeching.
