Welcome to todays diary entry! After the dodged bullets of the last few days it is safe to say we were not dodging anything today it literally rained almost non stop all day, with perhaps the occasional intermittent 3 or 4 minutes where it drizzled rather than what i would describe as lashing it down. I mean literally from the moment we woke to about 9pm, despite being 90 miles in another direction it just rained. I do believe that this part of Spain is synonymous with this rain and partly whether that is because of the Bay of Biscay or with it being so coastal but also parts of it are rather high up. Especially where we finished up for the day which is a place called Potes.
This is somewhere people recommended going when we put that post out a few weeks ago now and i am glad that we did, as we arrived we could just see the top of some of the mountains in between the clouds/ rain/ mist intermittently. The weather is due to be nice tomorrow so hopefully with clear skies be able to see the top of the mountains. The weather in Potes is supposed to be nice for the next couple of days so hopefully we should be able to do some exploring. One thing we did notice was just how cold it was up here. We planned yesterday to get the baby down early and then to sit in our dry robes outside and have a beverage outside but from opening the door for 3 seconds we just got straight in bed.

The one thing i did have to do before we left Santander which i wish i hadn’t had put off for the previous couple of days was do a little bit of a walk around the park up just to try and demonstrate why it is one of my absolute favorites. I think that is partly because i always associate it with the start of adventures so i am always full of enthusiasm and excitement and i always treat it like it is the first day/ few days of a holiday. I spent about 2 hours ready to go outside but kept delaying by 10/15 minutes whilst i waited in vein for the rain to die off which never did. So in the end i just pulled up my big girl pants and my umbrella and headed out.
I did a little walk around and there is also a long park just by the park up as well so we went down there. There is a lake, some marsh land, some parks, some gym equipment and it was all so well kept and not battered, broke or damaged or anything and then as i often do drift off in my head to ask myself how quickly something like this would last if it was in the UK and then think about a week before it was trashed for no one to use.
