Diary Entry – 17th October 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! Had the pleasure of visiting the NEC today. I wasn’t going to go down in the week i was going to come down with Lisa and the Beef on Sunday but as we have changed the date of the ferry we have lost 4 days worth of prep time so every spare minute i can get my hand on is crucial. We have 6 days left until we leave and that doesn’t leave a lot of time and Sunday will be the only full day and a day that we will; be packing the Motorhome up so we can wagons roll after 5 on Tuesday night and make our way down to Plymouth,

I was going down to the NEC with the customer service manager ‘Wee Joe’. He has not had much experience or time in the industry so it was a decent chance for him to have a little look at some stuff. A lot of the time you don’t get get to see loads of stuff up and if you are into this sort of thing then this is the place to be. I am an absolute nerd so i loved it being there. The funny thing is though is that the more i go to these things the less i find them enjoyable. I just think that unless you are in the market for a big ticket item then there is not much left there really.

I ended up spending most time at the awning end having a look around the awnings and talking to the reps. I was trying to introduce Joe to any customer service folk that may have been there so he can build a bit of a relationship with them. We walked the whole space about 3 or 4 times looking for little nik nak shops and bits and pieces and accessories but there didn’t really seem to be anything that made me stop walking. I can imagine if we were ever looking for a new motorhome then it would be amazing walking in and out of all the motorhomes but I’m not that fussed about looking in them if I’m not buying that

What made it worse was that i said to the lads id get the Wetherspoons breakfast as we met the Dodge and Nath before they had to get of and 4 Spoons breakfast cost me £66.10!! I couldn’t believe it, i had to get the woman to read out the order again as id thought you she’d added on an extra couple of breakfasts or something but it was right. To be honest i had no idea that’s how much Spoons breakfasts were. But i was politely informed by the lads that it isnt how much they cost just how much it costs in that specific one. Still went back for dinner though.
