Diary Entry – 16th September 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! Today was a rush around day and i was up early but i am really looking forward to next few days as we are visiting the trade show in Stoneleigh which isn’t a million miles away form the NEC. But first we had to navigate our way through the working day whilst getting shopping and other little trip away essentials. We decided we were going to motorhome down and then the Dodge decided he would take his caravan away as well so we will were only 5 minutes drive away so i was excited about that. Lisa had been in charge of the Campsite so literally, anything could happen.

The Big Tidy Up In Full Flow Yesterday

It is definitely quieter in September and i have not been here for a few years in September and it is incredible to see what a difference in 30 days since the middle of August when you could barely move away from your desk but i suppose now this is the time when you start to concentrate on the actual shop and use this as a chance to get sorted and to start planning for the next few months. We have still got quite a bit on as well when you think about things like ther NEC which is always a whirlwind week in this industry.

Then you look at things like Black Friday as well in November and then onto the big C at the end of December as well. They can still be productive times of year for us so we just need to be planning them now whilst we are in this kind of no mans land in between the season and the NEC. Work was pretty event free to be fair and i forgot that i had a meeting planned at 5pm so annoyingly that meant we didn’t leave until about 18:30 but we were only a couple of hours away any way so i wasn’t overly worried. It was near Leamington so i t was M6, M42 and a bit of the M40 which arent the best of roads.

The campsite was a weird one and it was off the side of a Rugby field but it was great and at £20 a night including EHU and we had ability to shower there and empty waste so you don’t really need anything else. The area itself was lovely as well. As we were all starving we managed to get there, get set up and get to Wetherspoons to have some food and a few drinks. It ended up being a little bit of a hub for the industry and we met some other guys, namely David and his Dad from Outdoor World and then the usual boozers like Dometic and some of those guys. I had not seen them since Dubbed Out so was nice to see them.
