Welcome to todays diary entry! It was a Friday 13th to remember that bloody container finally arrived at a little before 7am in the morning and my job was getting all the boxes off an putting them in order and calling out the product numbers so we made sure we knew what numbers of each we had and made sure we could palletize them together. I think in total there was something like 570 odd covers that came off and i pretty much handled every single one and after it had been done i could barely feel my hands from grabbing them and moving them about.
My original fears were correct and not a single one of them was on a pallet and they were literally stacked on top of each other so it was at times like Catchphrase and other times Jenga and other times Tetris. In the end it took a little over 90 minutes to get everything off and onto pallets. It was a bit of a team effort in the end but we got through it. It was probably one of the more physically demanding things i have done in a while. One thing you never quite understand is just how big a container is until you are taking boxes out of one and your walking them or watching other people walk them from one end to the other.

Been tough going in the shop and online and not quite been the September that we have been expecting but from what i can gather it looks as though a lot of people are in a similar position and that is one thing that people often say about us here is that we are very active and pro active. Some retailers are quite happy sitting around and waiting for the footfall to come into the shop where as we are on social media or doing shows either here or at shows etc.
When you think we have done a show at the shop recently then straight into Busfest. Some retailers don’t do any of those things some retailer literally sit in the shop and then moan about the winter being tough. We will still probably end up doing another show before the NEC in the shop as well just to break up the period between end of August and the NEC which is penciled in for end of October. Can you believe now it is only 6 weeks left until we leave!! Getting close now! It just seems all of a sudden to have rushed up on us. And it only seems like yesterday that we were gearing up for 4 shows in 5 weeks in July. Scary how fast time goes.
