Diary Entry – 02nd September 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! Somehow i have ended up with a 2 year and here is last years diary entry which ended up being one of the most read i have done and you can catch it here. It is funny really because time can be a great healer and with everyday you do forget the trauma and the horror of what happened on that day. It wasn’t quite stirring the same emotions as the previous year until you start looking back at pictures and then all of sudden the horror does come back.

12 months ago birthday cake smash! Happy Birthday Beef!

I found myself clock watching a little bit and his first picture was taken at 15:40 which i remember then it was the next 3 hours which were the worst. I should really probably sit down and talk about it properly but i think for the time being just looking forward to the future and trying to not focus on the that day. At least now we have had a UK birthday and it was nice that he got to see his 2 of his 3 Nannies on the day, aunt and uncle and nephews. This time last year we were on a campsite in Biscarosse and i when i woke up i opened the bedroom window to find that they sun canopy had collapsed on itself on one corner.

We had been to put some fresh water in and i hadn’t put the canopy on an angle so one leg had buckled on itself under the weight of the water. That was probably the beginning of me trying to be a bit more DIY’ey and i ended up dusting off my tool box out of the garage and taking it apart and then putting it back together and to be fair it is fixed but it just looks a little bit battered i will end up getting a new one at some point but for now it is perfectly fine. Well it looks like it has seen better days but still winds in and winds out.

I think we will end up keeping this motorhome for a few years now as we do like and we will get a Cabbunk for Beef so he can have a bigger bed and because he can climb about now i am less worried about him climbing out of bed. He cannot cause as much damage to himself if he goes in one now compared to 3 or 4 months ago. He is definitely becoming a big boy and i am just hoping that we don’t find ourselves in the terrible 2’s and hat we can bypass them. To be honest in my heart i don’t want him to grow any more and he can just stay at this age forever.
