Welcome to todays diary entry! What a fantastic day to finish the month and today has gone just how i wanted it to go. The shop was really really busy for most of the day and we did loads more than we had done on previous weekends so that goes to show that the marketing worked and having access to the FB groups worked and being able to advertise to 144k people definitely gave us a helping hand. Although it doesn’t matter to an extent as to how good your marketing is when the prices are how they are at the moment they do honestly sell themselves.

We had the pleasure of the Dodge this morning who was away on a sea fishing trip for Workshop Gaz’s birthday so he was like a hurricane this morning to get us all firing on all cylinders the main worry is always that you do the extra work and you spend your Friday evening screwing awnings into tarmac and then no one turns up and it has all been for nothing but once the doors opened we got off to a flying start when a customer came into store to buy a Cirrus 300 which is just the sort of sale you want to start your instore show.

What was incredibly heart warming was that Odette (dispatch manager) came in and she arranged to bring 2 of her guys in to help with picking any orders that come in through the day and i didn’t even ask her she just came in to help. So that was really nice and there is a real sense of team at the moment and one of the things that i said to the Dodge about coming into to Caretaker it for the rest of the season is that i wanted to try and build a relationship between all the departments as historically there has always been a little bit of tension/ animosity so i really wanted to try and unify the departments and i do believe i have done that. I have always go ton well with Odette, well after the first few weeks because she did scare and if i was honest still scares me now but i understand her better. I get on well with Customer Service Jo so i definitely think there is better cohesion between the departments.

I only have 8 weeks left to try and not burn those bridges and hopefully with the focus now in the shop on sales and bringing in as much money as possible i have started to lay the foundations for whoever fills my shoes next year whether it is me that does it or whether they need someone in before i get back in May but hopefully it is in a better position than when i stood in. It is apples and pears thought because it can be really busy in the summer. But with my biased rose tinted glasses i am going to say it is better.
