Welcome to todays diary entry! Day One of running the shop in its entirety. And it is safe to say that it didn’t quite turn out as i had hoped! You know the whole Insta Vs reality thing. Well this was it. It started ok, i like to start the day with a walk around where we sort of potter around the shop and talk about what we are planning on doing today etc. It is nice to get a little walk about and just see parts of the shop you wouldn’t normally get to see. The shop is in a bit of a state at the moment as we are mid move around so there is boxes everywhere and stuff around.
The problem is that every time you want to do something you need to move something out of the way and we only have limited space in the shop so when you move stuff about it turns the shop very quickly into a bomb site. I am a real stickler over the shop, really it should be our greatest advert and it hasn’t looked its best in a long time. To be fair to the guys that are in there in the spring and summer it is busy in that shop. The worse thing is the phone ringing sometimes you can put the phone down and then there is someone ringing already and then you forget what you are doing.

Not helped by the fact that one of the guys was not feeling well and went home at 10:30 so we were under even more pressure so it was me, Alan and a new guy who has worked here before and does some of the shows and the phone didn’t stop ringing off the hook so it was hard to try and get anything done away from your desk. I want for when the Dodge comes back on the 28th August to have that shop as close to perfect as possible. Well, i will change that, i want to have that shop looking the best it has ever looked.
So now he is off i can get creative with how i want it to look but it will be baby steps because in the mean time i am trying to keep my head above water with the phone calls. It can be really challenging as well managing the manufacturers as well as they all want to have there stuff up in the shop because when shopping instore you are far more likely to buy something that you can actually see for yourself in the flesh so they all want there awnings up and moan if another brand gets more space or more awnings up instead of there’s. It is just a case of spinning as many plates as you can.
