Welcome to todays diary entry! It is amazing how quickly something like a show can be put together. In May it ran a little bit differently as we had done quite a bit of the setting up on the Thursday night and had a lot of the awnings at least laid out and inflated the air ones but we didn’t have any of that done this time simply because of how later we arrived but we were all up and about at 8am. The first to arrive was Kian one of the lads from our place then shortly after that the Outdoor Revolution Brigade turned up. I think by the time they all arrived there was something like 9 or 10 of us.
It was me, the Dodge and Kian from A and E Leisure and then it was Benn, Jof, Simon, Paul and Brent (Outdoor Revolution Owner) and an extra 3 guys form the warehouse as well. In the space of about 6 or 7 hours we went from 1 empty field to 8 or 9 tents, 4 caravan awnings and 9 drive aways and an accessory shop. It is amazing how quickly it all gets done. It helps when every single person knows exactly what they are doing and we literally all run in auto pilot now. One of the big differences this time is that we had quite a lot less accessories in the shop.

Despite the absolute difference in size the awnings are actually easier to put away than the little fiddly bits and considering some of the tents weigh in the region of 70+ KGs saying out load that they are easier to pack away than 10 kettles sounds mad but it is true. They also travel better as well rather than loose bits banging and clattering in the back of the Renault. We got all finished for about 5pm and we were on cooking duty tonight and we were cooking one of our almost world famous curries tonight. We were cooking for 7 so i sloped off a bit early from the lifting stuff so i could start prepping the food.
I was cooking Benn, Brent and Paul were in Benn’s caravan talking shop, Kian was asleep as he had been up since 6am (these youngsters don’t know hard work), even worse than that the Dodge was asleep on one of the Outdoor Revolution Campese sofas. SO it was just little old me cooking away with Mum and the Beef listening to country music. After a while everyone reconvened outside Dodges caravan and we served up the food. It went down really well and we all sat around the table till gone 10ish just talking through the industry and how it is all going. I am a nightmare for loving to talk about work during these things i just find it all so interesting.
