Welcome to todays diary entry! As quickly as it started that was it for Camper Jam ’24. I cannot believe how fast it is all going and we are at another show again next weekend but even the pack down felt less stressful than it has in previous years as we had much less stuff to take back so we were packed down for about 5 or 6pm. Everything just ran like clockwork so we had a couple of our lads from the warehouse down to help with the pack down. We have had another good selling morning and even with some intermittent showers again it was decent enough weather.
When we talk about needing a bit of rain for a show what we don’t mean is having a bit of rain during a show to get it rocking, the one time you don’t want to see rain is on pack down. Last year during Camper Jam there was a number of apocalyptic downpours of which one was on the Sunday mid pack down and it totally transforms the pack down experience because it delays by about 2 or 3 days the length of time it takes to get yourself straight again after the show because you need to them spend the next few days drying awnings out. It is bad enough when it is your own awning but let alone when you have to do it about 12 times over it is a menace.

Well, that is show number 2 down out of our 3 in 3 weekends. This was the big Daddy that you want to try and get over with despite it biggest the biggest earner for us it is also the biggest work. We will over the next couple of days start to cast our eyes to the hat trick show which is back to Nottingham and back to Chilwell Olympia for the Mid summer show although the weather doesn’t really feel like mid summer still feels like early spring or mid autumn with the amount of rain we have received.
To be fair i don’t feel too bad i think a relatively quiet Camper Jam has certainly help to keep me going although I’m not the sort of person to shy away from working as long as it needs to make sure we get what needs to be done done. At least now i can start to look forward to my next day off in 10 days time which will be a little trip north of the wall to go to Scotland for Mums birthday as she has always wanted to go to Mallaig so that is where we are off for her 25th (ish) birthday.
