Welcome to todays diary entry! Because of our early finish last night and our promise of just having one drink in the bar we had a bit of a rush on this morning. A bit of a rush to get the shop ready. What was a “lets go for 1 quick pint” turned into not making it back to the shop to continue setting up. With late night fajitas. Never mind it was a lovely evening and no one was rough, and everyone turned up for work this morning so that is the most important thing! Which really when there is only 2 of us working that is pretty crucial.
The weather again has been peculiar again but once again it forecasted some rain in the afternoon and possibly some thunder storms but again we didn’t see any of it and it was even hotter today than yesterday, once it got past 2 o’clock there was not to be any more rain due at all whilst we were here. With shows the good weather can be a hindrance as much as help. That is for 2 reasons really the first one is that especially with the winter we have had the moment there is some nice weather it is almost like a carnival atmosphere and everyone wants to get to a beer garden and lay in it.

Some of the best shows we have ever done there has been some rain during the weekend, nothing motivates people like necessity and if it is raining and you don’t have an awning, or your awning is leaking, or your awnings breaks in the weather rain can be a great motivator to get it replaced. The main bigger ticket items that we sold today were the sun canopies as the problem with awnings in the heat is they can be a bit of a furnace in them. It was a bit of a quieter day today as not many people arrived before sort of 5pm as that was the workers arriving or the people with children.
We had done ok so far, the shop was ticking away nicely with accessories and with the shop stuff but not a brilliant day. A lot of the stock we had bought was some of the older stuff that we have had in the warehouse that hadn’t made it out yet so i was a good opportunity to get rid of some of that stock. We had our own new arrival as we were having a proper family weekend of it and Jen/ Gina (dont ask) was bring her 2 kids with her. So it was the Skelton’s and the Firths flying solo at this show. The girls are really good with Rory and it is always nice to see him interacting with other children. The girls also really like Lisa as well so as we nromally wake up from these shows the girls are normally waiting outside waiting to come in to see Beef and Mum.
