Diary Entry – 15th April 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! Today was the day that we waved good bye to Cofton and started on our final push north and i was still feeling a bit low from our experiences here but it does and will still hold a special place in my heart as i have had some incredible times there in the past with my family. However, i was excited to be leaving, not just because of our experiences but today was a day i had been looking forward to for ages. Today we were heading for Shrewsbury. Not very exciting i hear you say but we were heading there for a reason.

We have a purpose, and we were headed to Ludlow to finally get our shower tray fixed using something i had only heard of relatively recently. The company was called Speedcoat and rather than the debacle of having to remove the shower tray from my motorhome they spray it with some sort of a special poly-something or other and it coats it and makes it water proof again. I don’t know the technical details but what i do know is it involves some form of witch craft and wizardry.

We left Cofton at about 9am which was a pretty good start for us, we hadn’t taken much stuff out of the garage because of the up and down of the weather we had experienced so far. It had been the typical UK spring time which was basically all 4 seasons in 1 hour. When we were on our way one thing that i couldn’t believe and to be fair if i had of known it was going to be so bad i would have delayed it for a day was the wind. I had been moaning about wind in Agadir when the gusts got up to 30mph but the gusts here were up to 45 – 50mph. I have never driven in that kind of wind before and to be fair i didn’t even know it was going to be that bad. When the wind blew it doesn’t half move the motorhome about.

I just slowed right down and sat on the inside lane doing about 50mph holding the steering wheel tightly with 2 hands. We arrived in Ludlow at about 1pm and they were so friendly here. They have to take off the shower tray doors to get to all of the shower tray so we were staying over night in there forecourt with free electric and access to there Wi-Fi. The first coat of the shower tray looks mint and you can choose for over 25 colours some of them were like bright blue or bright yellow. A little bit too excentric for me so we settled with Tan. Once the first coat was complete and everyone left for the night with the heater on and with the rain and wind blowing outside watching Wonka for the 2nd time as it is the Beefs favourite.
