Welcome to todays diary entry! We were up nice and early today, and to be honest we have really enjoyed this little park up and it is one that next time we are getting a ferry to Santander then we will come back here in a heart beat. Especially with good solar system on top and with a little air fryer and inverter. We will be able to be off grid in most of Europe for probably 8 or 9 months of the year. So will be nice to be able to break free from the shackles of dependence on EHU.
We arrived at the port for about 10:00am and we were planning a little walk to the palace but the palace was actually 5km away and we didnt really fancy getting a taxi. So whilst we were planning what to do for the timer before we would be getting on the boat we went to the little cafe in the port and had some really nice food actually. It was one of those places that suprises you with how nice the food is. Also, when did duty free become so expensive. They were selling boxes of Sam Miguel for £25. It is cheaper in the supermarket that duty free.

We have been nervously watching the forecast for the weather in the BoB and it actually looks good so i am hoping that this may be a crossing that i actually enjoy. When we got on the boat went straight to the room to put laptops on charge and get ready for the afternoon. The weather has been so nice. I have probably caught the sun more in the last couple of days than i have in my whole time away. For the first 15 minutes we just stood at the side of the boat and watched us leave the Santander bay. Honestly, i cannot stress enough how nice it was, Santander.
When we went inside it weas like a cruise ship. There was live entertainment, a kids club, a bar and it felt very exciting. I think part of that excitement was looking forward to getting back home. Even as we moved out of the harbour the sea was flat and i starting to relax as i had a couple of drinks and watched the entertainment. Perhaps this was finally the crossing that would convert me to the sea life. Otherwise i think it will have to be St Malo next time or maybe Newhaven Dieppe. If i cannot handle this crossing when it is forecast to be as calm as it is then this ferry is definitely not for me.
