Diary Entry – 31st March 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! The joys of the last day of the month are always the same in any sort of role. Looking into awnings etc is no different you are always trying to beat previous days, weeks, months and years. People often don’t realise how hard we work when we work. Bearing in mind there have been times when we have had to work really really hard for little reward. I do sometimes wonder whether people think just because we are away that we have come into money and we are just travelling around.

We do work hard!

There have been times when it has felt like i am have been doing 2 full time jobs and still trying to keep this little social media gig going that we have. Sometimes it is not easy and we, despite being abroad in the motorhome still suffer from the same type of burnout that you can feel back home. The emotional and psychological aspects of it is the same it is just the location that varies. In fact in some respects motivation can be even harder whilst travelling because rather than sitting in an office looking outside at the dark or the rain i am sat in a motorhome looking outside into the African sunshine.

The flip side of that is that there is no commute which at times for me in the past has been at least one hour each way. So the picture above was me doing awning sales into the evening whilst trying to have some food out. Although today was an easy day to work hard on because the weather today had been absolutely pants and it intermittently rained on and off for pretty much the whole day. My roof light has a leak, well it drips through one section of the roof light i think the leak is somewhere else. So i have ordered from Amazon a seal gun and some Sikaflex and i am going to try and fix it up myself until i get back to A and E Leisure and ask those wonderful folks if they will help to fix it.

It must have been the vibration from the roads on the way to the desert. When i have a look on the roof i can see where sealant is coming away from like a rail that must hold 2 panels together. My biggest fear is that the whole roof is soaked. I don’t see any other moisture anywhere else so i am hopeful it is not going to be a huge renovation job just a quick wham bam thank you mam. It will be my first time using a sealing gun and sealant so anything could happen, i am just relieved that it is on the roof so it is a horror job then no one can see it until it gets fixed properly
