Welcome to todays diary entry! Happy Mothers day to all you wonderful Mums out there!! Without you all there wouldn’t be a human race so thank you. We had an action packed today planned which included an excursion into the desert and to see some other stuff. First thing on the agenda though was making Mum a cup of tea and giving her some presents that we had bought the other day from some argon oil cosmetic shop in Merzouga. We bought her a head scarf that she wanted, some anti ageing face cream and some Jasmin and argon oil cream.
To be fair we got absolutely stitched up by the clocks going back. Every year for Ramadan they go back by 1 hour to reduce the time that they have to fast so when i woke up and looked outside i thought it was about 07:30 but it was actually 06:30. I couldn’t for the life of me work out why i felt so fresh but after mentioning it to Lisa we realised the reason as to why. The driver for the excursion had not realised so he was waiting for us from 08:30 but we had the right time so he had to wait for us.

I suffer pretty bad with travel sickness and it is definitely getting worse as i am getting older i think drinking last night didn’t help but fortunately i managed to not get sick but i felt poorly pretty much the whole way around. It lasted for about 2.5 hours so it was quite intense especially with the Beef in tow who was drifting in and out of sleep but we were never really driving long enough for him to have a proper sleep so he was getting increasingly grumpy. So all of that combined didn’t make for a particularly pleasant passenger experience.
To be fair the excursion itself was really good and we got to go and see some things quite local that were pretty cool. So we drove into the desert to get some nice pictures of us all, we also went to a place that 350 million years ago was actually the bottom of the sea and hand picked some fossils off the ground which was ace as well. We drove past a nomad camp and we drove to the lake that had water in it but it hasn’t rained here since 1995 we read somewhere so the lake had no dried up and there wasn’t any water. Years ago it was a real hub of nature with Flamingos etc but there is literally nothing there now.
