Diary Entry – 08th March 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! I have thoroughly enjoyed having the last couple of days off it is probably the first days off that i have had this year so i definitely needed them and have enjoyed being on a bit of a road trip at the same time. It is all good for the soul. The weather is looking excellent for the next few days which is a relief considering how windy it was the other day. I hate the wind far more than any other type of weather, even more so than rain. It always takes me back to Tarifa which was another windy place that i didn’t like.

It’s just not Morocco without Camels

The wind was low enough that we could get the sun canopy out the good thing was that we had met some English people who we had met through Facebook and other English/ Welsh people on the site. It was my birthday eve so in the afternoon we decided to have a couple of drinks and spent that sitting outside the front of the motorhome and as we were sitting there people watching as we do we seen another English van so i turned to Mum and said hey look another English van there and it was Claire who we have met a few times now on our travels starting back from last time in Agadir. They ended up parking up at the side and came round and we sat out having some drinks talking about everything and anything! Then our scouse neighbours who we had met popped around.

Claire and her partner have 3 children and they are full time as well and a bit of an inspiration for us. They have been full time for ages now and it just goes to show that it can be done all there children are very polite and respectful so as time goes on and we get closer to his ‘school age’ and we then have to think about whether we home school from the motorhome and travel around or whether we try and integrate back into normal society. If i was being really honest with myself i am more leaning towards the home school and travel and teach him ourselves. I believe the UK curriculum is quite relaxed for home schooling and as long as we can get some help with the what and the how then i am sure we could do it.

There is always so much talk about how crowded class rooms are and i just think rather than spend 6 or 7 hours in a school day at school if you could give 3 or 4 intensive hours 1 on 1 hours and get it done and dusted but then be in a position to go to the beach or travel somewhere and learn about different cultures that would be far more rewarded than sticking to the standard conventional way of life that children go through. It is then a case of making sure he has interaction with other children but there are many things that you can whilst travelling to help him interact with others. IE there is world home schooling places where you can go for a week or a month and then they do different classes for children who are home schooled. There is one in Morocco that i am aware of so we would always have a plan
