Welcome to todays diary entry! It is amazing how quickly your mood can change. That was never more apparent than yesterday. After the disappointment of not feeling like we had a traditional Moroccan welcome we paid up, packed up and set off on a slightly longer drive today for about 2 hours as we headed over our first few mountain passes. I can honestly say what we experienced next will stay with me forever.
It pretty much started straight away as we left the campsite and started up quite a steep gradient and it was a series of hair pin bends for about a mile. There are not many times that i can say that i have been speechless but this was one of those rare times i was. Once we had reached the top of the hair pins it levelled out and for as far as the eye could see was just mountains and the occasional small village. The first pass went to 1700 metres and then one a little bit further on went to 1800 metres. SO to try and put that into context Mount Snowdon in Wales is just under 1100 metres.

One of the thing that surprised me the most was just how long you could see the road down into the distance and just how barrow the landscape was we drove on the top of this mountain pass for about 60 minutes and i was just in awe of how spectacular it was and how so little could be so impressive and amazing to see. We stopped a few times for some pictures and to just try and absorb it as we may not get to experience much like this again unless we were to do this route again but even then it wont feel the same.
I am going to try and say this without sounding silly but it was that incredible that it almost made you feel a bit emotional because of just how good it was. I just wish the Beef was able to have seen it as he was fast asleep in the back of the Moho and there was no way, not even for a once in a lifetime thing i would wake him up and risk having a grumpy Beef. We arrived at the campsite and it was nice enough, as soon as we walked in we did see a Roaming Radford’s sticker. I think we are going to do that when we come back to Morocco is just plaster stickers everywhere! So we need to make sure when we do get back that we can have plenty in the motorhome.
The campsite had beer and a lovely restaurant on it as well but we are outrageously low on cash and the nearest cash point is 20kms away in the direction of the desert so we didnt want to drive there and rive back so we will move on again tomorrow.
