Diary Entry – 02nd March 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! One of the things in places like this that you get here and you very rarely get it to hear it anywhere is silence. It was absolutely stone quiet apart from the crickets and birds. There was no barking, no scooters, no traffic, nothing. It is so nice to hear nothing as it is so rare to get it. The chap on this park up was very vibrant and he was a little bit like a mad scientist but was so so so welcoming and friendly but i suppose to do this and let random people into your compound etc you have to welcoming else you probably need a career change.

The view of the Motorhome over the road

We had a slow start to the day and after pottering around for the first hour or so we decided to go for a walk. What i used to do in Spain or in Portugal was to go to the front gate and just turn left or right and walk for 2.5kms and just walk back then the next day do the same. Since we have been travelling i have really developed a love of walking. I used to run a lot but now i’m 17 stone running is pretty much out of the question until i lose a bit. For now though i will enjoy the walking.

The plan today was to get packed up from here and head to the eastern side of Taroudant and make our way to our next stop which is called Grand Camping Taroudant. It was actually a decent park up to be fair and we really liked the look of the place we got the typical Moroccan welcome from the guardian and we had a walk about the place to find our spot. The toilets were some of the nicer ones we have ever seen in Morocco and nicer than the ones in Atlantica Park. There was also concrete all around the outside as well so it felt less dusty than other places.

What ever happened i wanted to make sure we were here and parked up ready for the Stoke game kick off and although we were 10 minutes late of the start we still managed another absolutely crucial 3 points and a big home win. Stoke are currently in the midst of a relegation battle so winning was really important, but when they lose it does affect me and make me miserable so everyone was chuffed when they romped home to an emphatic 2-0 win. I celebrated by trying to lighten the weight of the motorhome and drink some of the 96 Corellis i bought. All in all a very good day!
