Diary Entry – 26th September 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! The awning we have chosen to take with us to Morocco which has been donated to us courtesy of Dometic from there Stoneleigh show is here and we have decided that ideally we could do with getting it up and getting it out to make sure it is in decent enough nick and to make sure there are no tunes that are leaking or anything so we have decided to go and book a long weekend this weekend at the wonderful Blakemere Touring park which has been one of our favorite haunts for many years.

A few potential spots for our Convoy

The awning is a big old girl and it weight about 30kgs so i need to get it up and get it separated into 2 different bags. One bag for the main awning and then one bag for the panels and curtains etc. I just want to see what other items we are going to need on top of that. For example i don’t want to be spending ages inflating a massive All Season awning in the African heat so i will 100% want an electric pump and then it is a case of whether Mrs S wants the matching carpet for it etc.

So that is already carpet, footprint and electric pump but having that nice extra bit of extra space outside especially in the evening or even in the day it will be nice to have that extension of space. I am also thinking about the morning time for example when he is asleep at the front of the motorhome and the table is out of action then having an awning that i can go and sit in will be brilliant. Especially something as nice as the Dometic Rally 330DA All Season. It will be so nice. We can also put a little heater on in there if it gets a bit chilly.

Another up and down night for the Beef, although health wise he seems much much better we made the mistake of getting the new bed out at about 20:00 and that just seemed to send him west and he was as giddy as anything and then he was going absolutely wild till about 10pm and his last words were doing the alphabet and he literally fell asleep as soon as he finished. I slept poorly again i am just struggling to settle whilst he is in his new bed. Although i have had an epiphany and i think i can lower the bed by about 5 inches so that it is pretty much resting on the swivel seats. He can comfortably climb up and down on them so perhaps that may settle me. If not, it may be a few weeks of disturbed sleep whilst i get used to him getting used to his new bed.
