Diary Entry – 19th February 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Welcome to todays diary entry! And then just like that again we roll into another week and i wonder whether time goes faster when you have something coming up quite soon as i cannot remember time going this fast when we had not been here that long. It was good to get out and about yesterday and whilst we were at the Carrefour i picked up some clear sealant and Dazzler who is a carpenter by trade has said that he will come and fix the seals on the motorhome. Like i mentioned before it has always felt water tight but when it got jet washed it has become an expensive sieve.

So after his morning run and his breakfast up he turned with a tool box and some ladders and he set off to work. He spent time on the roof doing the seals up there and then came around the outside windows. He did one trip round and is then going to come back in a few days and do another round of sealing once the other has set. I really wish i was more DIY orientated I am literally rubbish so i always worry that people can always offer a lot of value but all i have is top quality banter and i just have to hope that is enough. To be fair it usually is because i am hilarious.

The big countdown is on and we have 12 sleeps remaining on here and i am really going to miss it. Spending 4 months in one place you start to build relationships with people even though you may not speak to them at any length but just a hello in the morning or a wave in the afternoon/ evening is enough and the smiles from people make you feel at home and comfortable despite being 2500 miles from your real neighbours. That is compounded ten fold when you meet poeple then that you start to socialise with and leaving those sorts of people behind is quite painful.

I will use Darren and Michelle as an example since they got here we have probably got together at least 2 or 3 times a week for something whether it is food or day out or a few low key beverages. That will leave a gap when we leave and we will miss them loads ot be fair. Same as well with Derren and Cass. All big characters and characters leave gaps behind. Although no doubt they will be glad to see the back of me and my infamous ‘one for the road’. I simply love it here and it is inevatable that this winter coming up we will be headed straight for here which is one of the good things about getting the exploring done now so we can come straight here and sit the winter out.
