Diary Entry – 24th January 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

Our 5k walking hot streak continues! That is now 3 days on the bounce that we have walked 5k in the morning before work. I am not sure i am mentally ready for running yet but i promise before the end of February i am doing 5k runs regularly along the sea front. I just have to. Only good thing is that i weighed myself this morning and i am still holding below 17 stone i just need to ensure that doesn’t then start to creep up and end up middle 17s again. I cannot cope with that. I remember a few years ago i was under 15 stone and although i don’t think i could ever get below that again i don’t see a reason why i could get to 15.5 stone. I think dropping that 1 and a half stone would do my body the world of good.

Our pals are still ultra committed to the cause they ran (although we have seen them walking today) and have done yoga today. I wish id have seen them and shouted abuse at them over the hedge. The plan was to go an watch Morocco on the big screen in one of the hotels for the final game of the group stages but it didn’t kick off until 9pm so you’re talking midnight until you’re getting back and with the Beef that is just too late especially if we have to be up relatively early for work. And Beef is one of those people who wakes up at pretty much the same time everyday irrespective of what time he goes to bed.

It is Mums payday tomorrow so the plan is to get up early and go and the motorhome insurance sorted then that is the final piece of the jigsaw for ultimate freedom. So i am looking forward ot that so we can start sharing some travelling with you. Our first stop will be paradise valley we have asked our pals if they want to come as well so we will all travel in our moho and go there together. I am just looking forward to blowing the cobwebs off the moho and getting the old Morocco diesel pumping through its veins.

This evening was spent sitting outside the front of the motorhome having a few beers as we did a mini Uni Prix run with Alan before they went so we had a decent stash in my mini outdoor beverage fridge. It wasn’t a particular late as we are all trying to remain healthy and save a bit of money rather than treating it like an all inclusive.

For those of you that have never heard of paradise valley here is a bit of info –
Paradise Valley near Agadir, what a gem! Tucked away just a short jaunt from the bustling city vibes of Agadir, Morocco, this place is like stepping into a different world. Imagine a lush, green oasis nestled in the midst of rugged, sun-baked mountains – that’s Paradise Valley for you.

It’s a haven for those who love a bit of adventure with their relaxation. You can lounge by crystal-clear pools, perfect for a refreshing dip, or if you’re feeling a bit more daring, there are spots that are just begging for a good old cliff jump. And let’s not forget the walks and hikes – they’re like a treasure hunt, with new stunning views and hidden corners to discover at every turn.

What makes it even better is the laid-back, almost bohemian vibe of the place. It’s not overrun by crowds, so you can really soak in the tranquillity. In short, Paradise Valley is a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle, offering a slice of serenity with a side of adrenaline. Perfect for a day out from your motorhome adventure!
