Diary Entry – 16th January 2024

Did you know you can follow us on our journey on YouTube!!

We had rain today! It was however one of the strangest periods of weather we have ever had here, it was raining but i was still sweating. It was the absolute definition of muggy. Sometimes Mum says that it is muggy when it is isn’t it is just hot. To be muggy there needs to be clouds in the sky and there isn’t normally but today it was quite thick cloud and rain for about 3 minutes and then stopped but i am classing it as rain. It was rather windy as well today especially as we were in the Hyatt for the first time that we have ever been out here we had to go and sit inside as it was literally non stop wind. With it being night time it was a warm wind it was a cool wind.

I sometimes wonder what we would do if it wasn’t for our air fryer or what we even did without an air fryer. This was todays creation. We had Steak on Chips last nigth but when we went tovthe super market we bought 4 steaks as we would normally have wraps with lettuce and hoi sin sauce. The lettuce looked odd and had beasties in it so we decided to throw that. Instead i diced the remaining steak and put it onto a baguette and melted some cheese on it. It was better than a Subway, honeslty it was absolutely amazing. For those of you that dont have an aire fryer you need to get one. You are missing out

After the rain had finished this afternoon i thought it may be nice to go along the front and go for a walk as hopefully will be a bit cooler rather than constantly doing it whilst it is sweltering. So off we trotted but with the wind it was really refreshing. Having a bit of rain just freshens up everything around. I also love the smell of rain when you have not had any rain in a while. Another thing as well, i am almost certain that in whole time we have been here we have never had one ounce of thunder or lightning. Whihc really when you think you would expect to have a storm or a year. I dont know whether that is the norm here or whether we have just been unlucky/ or lucky as the case may be. Which is the opposite of Biscarosse where we were having thunder and lightning almost daily.

In the Hyatt we probably had one of the nicest meals we have had up to now anywhere really. It was absolutely amazing. It came to about £20 for the food each but i swear now that it was Michelin star quality. I had lamb ribs with some other fancy stuff and veg and Mum had steak and some other fancy stuff. The Beef had like gourmet fish finger bites and chips. They brought us out starters, breads, some pre meal stuff. Honeslty it was really that good. I would quite happily go back there and have the same meal again tonight. It was that good. And proof that it was that good? We didnt even take a picture we scoffed it straight away. An amazing meal in amazing surroundings.
